Escape in October to magnificent and historic Greece for a very special Paint Europe Trip!

 

Whether you are a seasoned artist... or you have never painted before and have always wanted to learn... join national award-winning artist and instructor Laurie Hendricks for an inspirational week of plein air painting.

Each day we'll feed our creative souls. There will be plein air painting sessions in a variety of beautiful locations... Laurie will provide group demonstrations and offer individual personal instruction to all those who desire, designed to improve your painting skills and expand your art experience... seasoned artists are free to be on their own to paint and enjoy.

Artists can choose to paint en plein air in oil or watercolor. You will take home your paintings and a journal filled with treasured memories of your Greece creative adventure.

 

We'll begin in majestic Athens where we'll stay in the historical heart of the city. We'll paint Athens landscapes and neighborhood scenes... for those desiring to paint The Parthenon close up on the Acropolis towering over Athens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a special painting session will be organized to walk up to The Parthenon.

 

Hydra - One of Greece's Most Beautiful Islands!

 

We'll travel by inter-island ferry from Athens' port, Pirarus, going by jet-foil to the Greek Island of Hydra, one of the prettiest spots in Greece, where we'll paint the island's whitewashed houses and churches, ancient windmills, and stunning coastline scenes. Hydra is one of the Saronic Islands of Greece, located in the Aegean Sea. It is an "old world" island -- there are no roads, no cars, no land vehicles. Donkeys are the delivery vans. In Hydra we'll stay in a luxury boutique hotel, enjoying local island life and having delicious Greek cuisine.

 

Hydra is an extraordinary charming setting for artists  -- an architectural marvel with stone houses that ascend the mountain from the sea, narrow stepped alleyways and winding cobbled paths, with a beautiful clear-watered horse-shoe shaped harbor... where everyone gets around on foot or on a donkey or via water taxi

Each day provides beautiful settings for a week filled of joyous plein air painting!

 

The trip includes many extras -- welcome reception with Greek wines and cheeses, Greek wine tasting session, and farewell gala dinner with traditional Greek cuisine and wines.

Non-painter friends and spouses of artists are invited to join the trip.

​

There will be personal free time for added individual painting sessions... shopping in village boutiques... relaxing at outdoor cafes.

​

Optional before breakfast group pleasure walks are organized for travelers who want some morning exercise before starting their vacation day.
