The Best of Norway Discovery Tour is a special small-group journey designed to immerse you in the fascinating histories, rich traditions, and diverse cultures of this Nordic gem.. Along the way, you’ll experience breathtaking landscapes, explore world-class heritage sites, and engage with local citizens for authentic cultural insights.

We begin in Oslo, Norway’s dynamic capital, staying three nights at the luxurious Hotel Continental, a distinguished property and member of the Leading Hotels of the World® group.

After checking into the hotel, the day is available for you to explore Oslo on your own to... take a local ferry to Hovedøya, one of Oslo's close-by islands, where locals go for weekend relaxation, hiking, swimming and picnicing - and have lunch at Klosterkroa Cafè... visit the Munch Museum solely dedicated Norway's most famous artist and to see The Scream painting... visit to the National Museum... visit to the Nobel Peace Center... tour inside Oslo Opera House... or visit a floating sauna.

Sunday evening we;ll meet for a welcome dinner where we’ll gather as a group and preview the week’s upcoming highlights.

Monday morning starts with a hearty Norwegian breakfast before embarking on a full-day guided city tour of Oslo. We’ll visit Oslo City Hall, home of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, and explore sites such as The Royal PalaceAkershus Fortress, Karl Johans Gate, Oslo Cathedral, and the magnificent Vigeland Sculpture Park - the world’s largest sculpture park dedicated to a single artist. Included will be a stop to take an elevator to the top of Oslo's towering superstructure Holmenkollen Ski Jump

Tuesday we'll begin with a morning boat cruise of Oslo harbor to have a perspective of the Oslo skyline from the water. Then we'll meet up with our local historian guide to visit the Norwegian Folk Museum... the Fram Museum, which houses the once-unsinkable wooden polar exploration ship, Fram... and the Kon-Tiki Museum.

Wednesday is a travel day filled with scenic splendor. We'll board the famous Bergen Railway for a 4½-hour ride from Oslo to Myrdal, one of the most beautiful train routes in Europe. From Myrdal, we’ll transfer to the Flåm Railway, a 12-mile descent through steep mountain valleys, past waterfalls, and through lush countryside. This engineering marvel is one of the steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world.

Wednesday afternoon we'll arrive to Flåm where we’ll spend the night, staying in a cozy and stylish Norwegian brew-house lodge, designed with local wood, stone, and driftwood. The location, near Flåm's harbor, offers the perfect setting for relaxation and immersion in fjord life.

After checking into our lodge, we're off to take a late-afternoon fjord safari aboard a high-speed RIB (rigid inflatable boat,) allowing us to cruise through the majestic Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, both part of a UNESCO-listed area. Along the way cruise past towering cliffs and waterfalls... hear stories about the history and legends of Norway’s fjordlands... and stop in a remote village for a goat cheese tasting session. Later that evening we'll have dinner at our lodge's brew-house restaurant.

Thursday morning is personal time for sightseeing, walking, biking, kayaking, ziplining or relaxing in Flam. In the afternoon we travel via ferry from Flam to Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, where we’ll spend our final two nights. Our accommodations are at the refined Bergen Børs Hotel, located in a beautifully restored Renaissance Revival building that once housed the city’s stock exchange.

In Bergen, we’ll explore the city center and learn about its history and dynamic leaders, and we'll visit the historic Bryggen Wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with charming wooden buildings and centuries of maritim centere history. Our guided walking tour includes a visit to the fish market, a stroll through hidden alleyways, and a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for breathtaking views over the city and fjord below.

Friday evening we’ll gather for our final farewell gala dinner, where we’ll enjoy traditional Norwegian cuisine and celebrate the memories and friendships made during our Scandinavian adventure.

On Saturday, after breakfast, we say our goodbyes and continue to our next destinations - departing with unforgettable memories of a remarkable journey through Norway.
