DISCOVERY TOUR
7 Days / 6 Nights
May 31 - June 6, 2026
From $9,750

Oslo - Norway's Capital City

Fjords - UNESCO World Herritage Sites
Bryggen - Bergen’s 900-Year Old Wharf
The Best of Norway Discovery Tour is an intimate small-group journey crafted to immerse you in the captivating history, rich traditions, and diverse culture of this Nordic gem. Along the way, you’ll experience awe-inspiring landscapes, explore world-class heritage sites, and connect with local citizens for genuine cultural insight.
We begin in Oslo, Norway’s vibrant capital, where we’ll spend three nights at the elegant Hotel Continental, a distinguished member of the Leading Hotels of the World®.
After checking in, the remainder of the day is yours to explore at leisure. You may choose to take a local ferry to Hovedøya, one of Oslo’s nearby islands beloved by locals for hiking, swimming, and picnicking, with lunch at Klosterkroa Café. Other options include visiting the Munch Museum, home to Edvard Munch’s iconic The Scream; exploring the National Museum; stopping by the Nobel Peace Center; touring the Oslo Opera House; or relaxing in one of Oslo’s famous floating saunas.
On Sunday evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner, where we’ll meet as a group and preview the exciting week ahead.
Monday begins with a hearty Norwegian breakfast followed by a full-day guided city tour of Oslo. Highlights include Oslo City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held, as well as The Royal Palace, Akershus Fortress, Karl Johans Gate, Oslo Cathedral, and the spectacular Vigeland Sculpture Park - the world’s largest sculpture park dedicated to a single artist. We’ll also ride an elevator to the top of the iconic Holmenkollen Ski Jump for sweeping views of the city.
On Tuesday, we start with a scenic boat cruise through Oslo Harbor, offering a unique perspective of the city skyline from the water. We’ll then meet our local historian guide for visits to the Norwegian Folk Museum, the Fram Museum—home to the legendary polar exploration ship Fram—and the Kon-Tiki Museum.
Wednesday is a day of unforgettable scenic travel. We board the renowned Bergen Railway for a 4½-hour journey from Oslo to Myrdal, widely considered one of Europe’s most beautiful train routes. From Myrdal, we transfer to the Flåm Railway, descending through dramatic mountain valleys, waterfalls, and lush countryside on one of the steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world.
That afternoon we arrive in Flåm, where we’ll spend the night in a cozy, stylish Norwegian brewhouse lodge crafted from local wood, stone, and driftwood. Located near the harbor, it’s an ideal setting for relaxation and immersion in fjord life.
Later, we set out on an exhilarating fjord safari aboard a high-speed RIB (rigid inflatable boat), cruising through the majestic Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, both part of a UNESCO-listed region. Along the way, we’ll pass towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, hear tales of Norway’s fjordland history and legends, and stop in a remote village for a goat-cheese tasting. Dinner is enjoyed that evening at the lodge’s brewhouse restaurant.
Thursday morning is free for personal exploration—sightseeing, walking, biking, kayaking, ziplining, or simply relaxing in Flåm. In the afternoon, we travel by ferry from Flåm to Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city, where we’ll spend our final two nights at the refined Bergen Børs Hotel, housed in a beautifully restored Renaissance Revival building that once served as the city’s stock exchange.
On Friday, In Bergen, we explore the city center and learn about its rich maritime heritage and influential leaders. Our guided walking tour includes the historic Bryggen Wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its iconic wooden buildings, a visit to the bustling fish market, strolls through hidden alleyways, and a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen for breathtaking views over the city and surrounding fjords.
On Friday evening, we come together for a memorable farewell gala dinner, featuring traditional Norwegian cuisine as we celebrate the friendships and unforgettable experiences of our Scandinavian adventure.
On Saturday, after breakfast, we bid farewell and continue onward to our next destinations—departing with lasting memories of an extraordinary journey through Norway.
