Experience the Magic of Sensational Sicily!
An exclusive 8-day, 7-night journey through the heart of the Mediterranean.
Join us for an unforgettable adventure through Sicily, one of the most captivating and culturally rich islands in the world. This carefully curated small-group tour is designed to immerse you in the island’s vibrant heritage, stunning landscapes, and mouthwatering cuisine—at the perfect time of year. Spring in Sicily means ideal weather before the summer heat, fewer crowds, and a warm local welcome that’s uniquely Mediterranean.
Our journey begins in Palermo, Sicily’s bustling capital, where a local historian will guide us through its lively markets, ornate Baroque churches, and UNESCO-listed Arab-Norman architecture. We’ll also visit nearby Monreale, known for its breathtaking cathedral mosaics. From there, we’ll delve deep into Sicily’s layered past, its architectural wonders, and the vibrant traditions that have shaped its unique identity.
No Sicilian experience would be complete without savoring its world-renowned cuisine. In Palermo, we’ll enjoy a hands-on cooking class with a celebrated local chef, followed by a multi-course traditional Sicilian lunch, either in the chef’s private home or countryside villa. It’s more than a meal - it’s an invitation into the heart of Sicilian life.
In Agrigento, we’ll stand among the legendary Valley of the Temples, home to some of the best-preserved Greek ruins outside of Greece, including the massive Temple of Zeus. After a guided exploration, we'll unwind with a stay at a scenic olive oil estate, home to over 10,000 olive trees and honored with the title “World’s Best Olive Oil.” Here, we’ll relax in elegant rustic luxury, enjoy a farm-to-table dinner, and savor the estate’s award-winning oils.
We’ll continue inland to visit Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, a 3rd–4th century Roman villa and UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its exquisite mosaics and remarkably preserved architecture.
Then, it’s on to Siracusa, where we’ll settle in for four nights on enchanting Ortigia Island. With its elegant Baroque buildings and ancient Greek legacy, Ortigia offers the perfect blend of history and charm. We'll explore the Greek Theater, the Ear of Dionysius, and hidden corners of the island with expert commentary from a local guide. One evening, we'll enjoy a traditional puppet performance at the Opera dei Pupi - a uniquely Sicilian form of storytelling.
For some adventure, an off-road 4-wheel drive excursion up Mount Etna, will be offered to experience a dramatic change of scenery. After exploring the mountain’s lunar-like landscapes, we’ll enjoy a wine-paired lunch at a nearby Mount Etna winery where vines thrive in the volcanic soil. The day ends with a leisurely stroll through Taormina, Sicily’s glamorous cliffside resort town made famous by the television series White Lotus.
We'll also explore the golden limestone streets of Noto, widely regarded as one of Sicily’s most beautiful Baroque towns. As a special treat, we’ll enjoy a seaside Sunday lunch in a tranquil fishing village off the tourist path- an experience designed to connect you with the warmth and rhythm of everyday Sicilian life.
Throughout the journey, we’ll stay in hand-picked enchanting boutique accommodations. Spend two nights at the Grand Hotel Wagner in Central Palermo, one night at a renowned olive oil estate in Agrigento, and four nights at the charming Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel in Siracusa. Each property offers a unique blend of comfort, character, and Sicilian hospitality.
The tour includes everything needed for a seamless and enriching experience: daily breakfasts, welcome and farewell dinners, private historical tours, all entrance fees, group transportation, airport transfer upon arrival in Palermo, and concierge support throughout.
Optional morning walks will be led by WalkEurope President Tom Harter, offering a gentle and reflective way to begin your day.
This small-group tour is limited to just 12 guests, ensuring an intimate, personalized experience. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, a lover of beautiful landscapes, or simply someone seeking a thoughtfully designed travel experience, this Sicilian journey promises to be truly unforgettable.
