We'll travel along world-renowned Amalfi Drive to see the breathtaking views unlike anywhere in the world... we'll visit and experience all three famous Amalfi Coast villages - Ravello, Amalfi & Positano... we'll take a day trip traveling by hydrofoil to the island of Capri and to visit and paint at Villa San Michele in Anacapri... we'll stay in a choice of wonderful hotels in beautiful Sorrento along the Bay of Naples.

Whether you are a seasoned artist... or you have never painted before and have always wanted to learn... join national award-winning artist and instructor Laurie Hendricks for a fabulous week of plein air painting!

Each day we'll feed our creative souls. There will be painting sessions in scenic Southern Italy locations... Laurie will provide demonstrations and offer individual personal instruction designed to improve your painting skills and expand your art experience... seasoned artists are free to be on their own to paint and enjoy.

 

Artists can choose to paint en plein air in oil or watercolor. You will take home your paintings and a journal filled with treasured memories of your Amalfi Coast creative adventure.

Non-painter friends and spouses of artists are welcome to join as there are many non-painting activities.

 

Well explore the breathtaking splendor of the Amalfi Coast and take in the extraordinary coastal views ... take day trips to famous coastal towns... embrace the ambiance and engage with the people of the South of Italy... enjoy delicious Southern Italian cuisine and gelato.

We’ll be based in lovely Sorrento overlooking the Gulf of Naples where we'll stay six nights in a choice of boutique hotels. We'll paint in Sorrento's historic city centre with its narrow lanes, ancient buildings and majestic views of the Gulf of Naples... plus take day trips to:

• Ravello & Amalfi - We'll travel by private van along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast to Ravello to visit Villa Cimbrone Garden and its stunning Terrace of Infinity, one of the world's most beautiful views... then travel on to Amalfi to visit the 6th century Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo.

• Positano - We'll take a ferry (weather permitting) to the picturesque coast town of Positano where jet-setters flock from the world over.

• Capri - We'll travel by hydrofoil to the island of Capri where we'll ride in Capri's unique open air taxis to the hilltop village of Anacapri and visit Villa San Michele and its lush garden overlooking the Gulf of Naples.

The trip includes many extras -- a welcome reception with Italian wines and cheeses... cocktail hour soirees with Italian wines... limoncello tasting... farewell dinner with traditional Southern Italian cuisine and local wines.

There will be personal free time for added individual painting sessions... to take an optional afternoon trip (added charge) to tour Pompeii, the astounding UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site which over 2,000 years ago was a striving and sophisticated Roman city, buried under meters of ash and pumice after the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.... shop in the outdoor markets and the luxury boutiques... wander through Sorrento's historic city centre discovering its old world charm... soak up the Southern Italy sunshine... go for a swim in the Tyrrhenian Sea... relax poolside or at an outdoor cafe.

Optional before breakfast group pleasure walks through Sorrento are organized for travelers who want some morning exercise before starting their vacation day.
