Join us for a spectacular week discovering beautiful Paris... with a local art historian we'll learn about the development of French impressionism, post-impressionism and modernism art movements... we'll explore the great artists... we'll see their famous paintings and sculptures... we'll visit Paris food markets and specialty boutiques with a local culinary expert... "oh là là", we'll visit Yves Saint Laurent's former design studio and home, now a couture fashion museum... and much, much more!

With our art historian guide we'll visit Paris's top museums viewing and learning about works ranging from Claude Monet and Édouard Manet... Auguste Renoir and Georges Seurat... Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Vincent van Gogh... Eugene Boudin and Paul Gauguin... Pablo Picasso and Paul Cézanne... to Edgar Degas and Auguste Rodin. Plus we'll visit The Montmartre neighborhood where many artists lived and painted.

Mid-week we'll take a day trip to Chateau de Fontainebleau, the opulent 1,500 room palace located southeast of Paris, considered to be one of the most beautifully decorated and furnished chateaus in France. Fontainebleau, a UNSECO World Heritage site, is one of the oldest palaces in Europe and was home to 800 years of monarchs... where many famous French artists came to plein air paint.

We'll visit Musée Yves Saint Laurent, dedicated to the work of one of the twentieth century’s greatest couturiers. The museum, set in the designer's former Paris home, focuses on both the couturier’s creative genius and his process of designing a haute couture collection. On display are exhibits the couturier’s body of work, alternating between retrospective displays and thematic exhibitions.

We'll go on a Paris Food Markets tour. With our local culinary expert we'll visit specialty food boutiques, from cheese & pate to pastries, chocloate & macarons... learning about French cooking and culinary products.

For six nights we’ll stay in Paris's Saint-Germain district on the Left Bank, close to major landmarks, shopping, restaurants and famous sidewalk cafes. You have a choice of personally selected boutique hotels to stay -- charming boutique hotel or premiere/luxury hotel.

Afternoons are free for personal exploring, shopping and relaxing in Paris on your own... to visit museums and Paris landmarks... explore neighborhoods and markets... browse boutiques, antiques shops and specialty food stores... relax in Jardin du Luxembourg or The Tuileries... have an aperitif at an outdoor cafe along Boulevard Saint-Germain.

We'll have a French wine tasting session with a local expert... we'll take an evening river cruise on The Seine to view the "City of Light" at night traveling past Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, and Pont Neuf.
