Join award-winning artist and instructor Lori McNee for an unforgettable week of plein air painting in the Netherlands and Belgium. In an intimate group of fellow artists, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich culture, stunning landscapes, and historic charm of these European gems.

The Dutch Experience: Amsterdam & Countryside (3 Nights)

​

Our journey begins in Holland, where you’ll enjoy hands-on painting sessions with Lori in spectacular locations, including:

​

• The Dutch countryside, where fields of vibrant tulips stretch toward the horizon

• Amsterdam’s historic canal district, painting alongside charming canals and iconic canal houses with colorful shutters and ornate gables

• Quaint village dotted with traditional windmills

 

We’ll also visit the Rijksmuseum, home to Dutch Golden Age masterpieces, including Vermeer’s The Milkmaid and Rembrandt’s Night Watch.

Enjoy a leisurely canal boat cruise to experience Amsterdam’s architecture from the water, and take advantage of free time to explore local treasures like the Van Gogh Museum, the Rembrandt House, or the Anne Frank House. There will be opportunities for cheese tasting, shopping in outdoor markets, and browsing the city’s stylish department stores.

Those arriving early to Amsterdam may want to visit the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens.

The Belgian Experience: Bruges (3 Nights)

​

Midweek, we’ll board a train from Amsterdam Centraal Station and head to Bruges, Belgium — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s most picturesque medieval cities. With its winding canals, cobblestone streets, and stunning architecture, Bruges is the perfect canvas for your creativity.

​

Spend two full days painting en plein air with Lori, soaking in the romantic atmosphere of this well-preserved historic town — once admired by Winston Churchill and where he painted for its enduring beauty.

You’ll stay in carefully selected signature hotels, centrally located in the historic canal districts of both Amsterdam and Bruges.

 

For early risers, we offer optional morning pleasure walks before breakfast — a refreshing way to start the day.
