Whether you are a seasoned artist... or you have never painted before and have always wanted to learn... join national award winning artist and instructor Laurie Hendricks for a week in August capturing the breathtaking Normandy countryside and colorful sea coast painting en plein air in your own unique style.

Each day we'll feed our creative souls. There will be daily painting sessions, individual instruction and demonstrations by Laurie which will improve your skills and expand your art experience.

 

Artists can choose to paint en plein air in oil or watercolor. You will take home your France paintings and a journal filled with treasured memories of your European creative adventure.

We’ll be based in picturesque Honfleur, France, the medieval Normandy sea coast town with narrow cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and beautiful old harbor, where the Seine river meets the English Channel. We'll stay six nights in a choice of personally selected boutique hotels.

We'll paint the colorful 16th-18th century townhouses lining Honfleur's majestic Vieux-Bassin with the array of boats in the old harbor... we'll paint the beautiful landscapes of the Normandy countryside and the spectacular sea coast ...and we'll take a day trip to Mont Saint Michel, the UNESCO World Heritage site, and to stunning Etretat.

We are invited as special guests to a private Normandy manor estate where we'll spend the day painting spectacular landscapes and timbered Normandy buildings.

​

There will be personal free time to join an optional guided tour with a local historian to see the WWII D-Day battleground beaches and visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.

 

Plus there will be free time for additional individual painting... taking leisure walks... exploring quaint village shops and galleries... and relaxing at sidewalk cafes.

Optional before breakfast group pleasure walks are organized for travelers who want some morning exercise before starting their vacation day.

  • Premiere/Signature Boutique hotel -- stay in the exceptional setting of a beautiful ancient building, composed of an old salt storehouse and three 16th-century houses located in the heart of Honfleur. Inside is a cozy and elegant décor filled with collector’s objects, warm fabrics and specially chosen furniture.

• Daily hotel buffet breakfasts.
