A tour to two of Spain's most spectacular Spanish cities... two trips in one!

 

Discover the extraordinary splendor of Spain's two prominent cities - Barcelona and Madrid - plus a day trip to historic Toledo. 

The first three nights we’ll be staying in sophisticated Madrid. We’ll take private tours with local historian and art guides of Madrid's world-famous Prado Museum, plus visit Reina Sofia Museum and Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum... and tour Palacio Real de Madrid (Royal Palace of Madrid). 

 

We'll take a day trip to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and have a private guided tour of Toledo Cathedral (Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary).

There will be free time for personal sightseeing...  strolling through Rio Park or visiting the Botanical Garden... shopping at Madrid boutiques and local markets... relaxing at outdoor cafes.

Midweek we’ll travel by high-speed train from Madrid to vibrant Barcelona. We'll have a private tour of Antoni Gaudi's modernisme  buildings with a local art/architecture historian guide... we'll tour the historic Gothic Quarter and visit Barcelona's Museu Picasso.  We'll meander through the narrow alley's in the Gothic Quarter... along the Mediterranean... and stroll La Rambla to visit Boqueria Market, Europe's largest food market.

We'll journey on a tapas safaris, in both Madrid and Barcelona, sampling an assortment of tasty Spanish appetizers, wines and cavas.

We'll have an evening wine tasting session with a region expert.

 

There will be free time for shopping, personal sightseeing, and soaking in Barcelona's sunshine and ambiance.

 

Optional before breakfast group pleasure walks through Barcelona's historic city center and along the Mediterranean, and through Madrid's city centre and along the Menzanarez River, are organized for travelers who want some morning exercise before starting their vacation day.
