At 12:30 PM, we depart for the Cotswolds with a special stop en route to visit a private garden featured in the National Garden Scheme, where we’ll enjoy a delightful afternoon tea and cakes.
We’ll arrive in the Cotswolds by late afternoon and check in to our luxury boutique hotel, perfectly situated for the days of garden touring ahead. Enjoy the evening at leisure in this quintessential English countryside setting.
Day 3 – Monday, May 18: Highgrove, Private Estate Garden, Bibury & Bourton-On-The-Water
Begin your day with an optional pre-breakfast village walk, followed by a hearty full English breakfast at the hotel.
This morning, we’ll board our private coach with our expert Cotswold Blue Badge guide for a truly memorable day of garden experiences.
Our first stop is The Royal Gardens at Highgrove, the private estate of His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla, located near Tetbury. Designed and nurtured by King Charles since 1980, Highgrove is celebrated for its organic principles, creative design, and environmental harmony. We'll enjoy a docent-led tour through the gardens, followed by a relaxed lunch at Highgrove’s own restaurant.
In the afternoon, we’ll be welcomed as special guests to an exceptional private estate garden—four acres of formal gardens and parkland featuring more than 500 trees. Originally designed by its owners over 40 years ago, the garden is known for its color-themed rill garden, formal parterres, and elegant layout. Our visit includes afternoon tea and biscuits with the owner.
To end the day, we’ll stop in the postcard-perfect village of Bibury to see the iconic Arlington Row Weavers' Cottages - one of the most photographed scenes in the Cotswolds. Built in 1380 and later converted into 17th-century weavers' homes, these cottages are steeped in charm and history.
Return to the hotel for a relaxing evening at your leisure.
Day 4 – Tuesday, May 19: Hidcote, Kiftsgate & Chipping Campden
Start your morning with an optional pre-breakfast village walk, followed by a full English breakfast at the hotel.
Today we’ll explore two of England’s most celebrated gardens and enjoy time in one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages.
Our day begins with a visit to Hidcote Manor Garden, a true icon of English garden design. Created in the early 20th century by American horticulturist Lawrence Johnston, Hidcote pioneered the concept of “garden rooms”, each with its own theme, color palette, and planting scheme. With its topiary hedges, herbaceous borders, water features, and stunning vistas, Hidcote remains one of the most influential gardens in the country.
Just next door, we’ll visit Kiftsgate Court Gardens, lovingly shaped over three generations of women gardeners from the same family. First established in the 1920s by Heather Muir, and further developed by her daughter and granddaughter, Kiftsgate blends traditional and contemporary styles. Highlights include a dramatic terraced landscape, bold planting combinations, and a tranquil modern water garden. We'll enjoy a delicious country lunch in Kiftsgate’s charming tearoom.
In the afternoon, we’ll stop in Chipping Campden, a quintessential Cotswold market town known for its golden stone architecture and historic charm. Wander the 17th-century Market Hall, browse local shops, or simply soak in the timeless beauty of this well-preserved wool town.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon with the evening free to relax or dine locally.
Day 5 – Wednesday, May 20: Sudeley Castle, Seizincote, Bourton House, Broadway & Stanton
Today promises another unforgettable day of exploration as we visit three spectacular Cotswold gardens - Sudeley Castle, Bourton House Gardens, and a remarkable private estate—along with a stop in Broadway, one of the region’s most picturesque villages, where we’ll enjoy lunch.
Sudeley Castle
Rich in history and beauty, Sudeley Castle was once home to Queen Catherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of King Henry VIII, who is also buried on the castle grounds. The estate boasts nine distinctive gardens, each with its own unique charm. American-born Elizabeth, Lady Ashcombe—who still resides on the estate—has worked tirelessly to preserve the castle and lovingly restore its gardens.
Broadway
Often called the "Jewel of The Cotswolds," Broadway enchants visitors with its broad main street lined with honey-colored limestone buildings dating back to the 16th century and earlier. This historic village has long been a magnet for artists and writers including John Singer Sargent, William Morris, and Henry James. Today, its creative legacy lives on through numerous art galleries, charming tea rooms, and boutique shops.
Sezincote House & Gardens
A hidden gem nestled in the Gloucestershire countryside, Sezincote is a privately-owned agricultural estate spanning over 4,500 acres. The 200-year-old house, designed by Samuel Pepys Cockerell, is a stunning interpretation of a Mogul Indian palace. Its enchanting gardens feature spring-fed pools that flow down to an island pool before merging with the River Evenlode. We’ll enjoy a private tour of the house, whose exquisite interiors were styled by the renowned John Fowler of Colfax & Fowler.
Bourton House Gardens
Set against the backdrop of an elegant 18th-century manor, these award-winning gardens are a true horticultural masterpiece. Voted “Garden of the Year” by the Historic Houses Association and Christie’s, Bourton House Gardens is known for its vibrant terraces, lush herbaceous borders, and striking combinations of color and texture.
Day 6 – Thursday, May 21: Bleheim Palace, Rousham House & Gardens and London
After breakfast, we’ll check out of our Cotswold hotel and set off on the final day of our garden tour before heading to London. Today’s journey takes us through history, architecture, and landscape artistry with two of England’s most remarkable estates.
Blenheim Palace
Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Blenheim Palace, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture set on an expansive 12,000-acre estate. Built in the early 18th century, it is one of England’s largest and grandest country houses - and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Still privately owned, the palace is home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough.
We’ll enjoy a private tour of the palace, including the Winston Churchill exhibit, followed by time to stroll through the beautifully landscaped park and formal gardens. In 1764, famed landscape architect Lancelot “Capability” Brown transformed the grounds into the naturalistic style that still defines them today. A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Blenheim is a true highlight of the English countryside.
Rousham House & Gardens
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Rousham House and Gardens, widely considered one of the most significant gardens in England. Designed by William Kent, the garden remains nearly untouched since its creation in the 18th century. Famed garden critic Monty Don describes Rousham as “Kent’s masterpiece, one of the greatest gardens in the world.”
Built in 1635 and still occupied by the descendants of the original owners, Rousham House is steeped in history and tradition, offering a rare glimpse into the legacy of early English landscape design.
Arrival in London
We’ll then travel to London for a two-night stay at a premier luxury hotel in the heart of Mayfair. Elegant and refined, the hotel exudes the charm of a traditional London private club, and is ideally located near world-class shopping, fine dining, and many of the city’s iconic landmarks.
Day 7 – Friday, May 22: The RHS Chelsea Flower Show & Farewell Dinner
We’ll begin the day early to ensure we’re among the first through the gates of the world-renowned Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show. A private transfer will take us from our hotel to the show grounds at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where our expert horticultural guide will lead us on an exclusive tour of this celebrated event.
As the most prestigious flower show in the world, Chelsea draws leading designers, growers, and gardening enthusiasts from across the globe. We’ll take in the highlights, including the Best in Show, Best Fresh Garden, and Best Artisan Garden, along with a tour of the Great Pavilion, home to more than 100 dazzling exhibits from top nurseries and florists. It’s a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime experience for any garden lover.
Afternoon – Leisure Time
After our guided tour, you’ll have the afternoon free to further explore the Flower Show at your own pace or enjoy personal time in London. Whether you choose to visit a museum, take in a landmark, browse designer boutiques and department stores, or simply unwind over lunch at a charming café, the city is yours to discover.
Evening – Gala Farewell Dinner
In the evening, we’ll gather for a festive Gala Farewell Dinner featuring traditional English cuisine. It’s a perfect time to reflect, celebrate new friendships, and toast to the unforgettable journey we’ve shared.
Day 8 – Saturday, May 23: Farewell & Departure
For early risers, we’ll offer an optional morning walk through nearby Hyde Park, a peaceful start to the day. Afterwards, we’ll c ome together one last time for a hearty Full English Breakfast, share favorite memories from the trip, and bid farewell to our fellow travelers.
