In 1989 Hugh and Jane Arbuthnott and their young family discovered Andalucia and built a house on a 500 acre farm called Almuña. Surrounded by the most beautiful country imaginable they set about finding places and routes often known only to muleteers and shepherd boys. They have created a variety of active and cultural holidays many of which combine walking in the hills and valleys around them.

Almuña has 7 comfortable double guest bedrooms all with their own bathrooms and plus annexes can accomodate upto 18 people.

There is a feeling of age and an indefinable atmosphere of conviviality about the house. You arrive through the grounds of olives and enter the house via a cobbled courtyard dripping with jasmine to behold views of shimmering white villages scattered over green mountains stretching to the distant Pillars of Hercules and beyond in to Africa.

Hugh and Jane are your hosts on all their holidays and on each one you will spend some time at Almuña.

Delicious food is an essential part of staying at Almuña. Jane is a renowned cook producing delectable meals and picnics with fresh organic ingredients from her own kitchen garden. She has a dedicated staff from the local villages who also cook and produce classic Andalucian dishes. Hugh ensures a wholesome supply of quality wine from various regions of Spain.
